Ribbons of Winter Inspire 2008 Nelle Wedding
Sunday, December 30th, 2007I am busy sewing up my 2008 wedding collection right now. All of the pieces for this years collection have been inspired by the starkness of our Minnesota winter season. Something about working with the simple colors of white, gray, and black is refreshing. It is nice to create a collection that has such a clear and concise color palette after such a colorful holiday season. Never fear though, 2008’s wedding collection will not be dull. I will be adding statement making embellishments to the collection with the help of some beautiful ribbon that I have recently acquired.
I think that the ombre ribbon is particularly lovely and am dying to pair it with vintage pieces and gray freshwater pearls. I found this ribbon at the Macy’s Minneapolis flea market. The ribbon is from VV Rouleaux, a fantastic trim store in London. Luckily VV Rouleaux has a wonderful online store so picking out a variety of delightful ribbon is easy for anyone.

Sunday, December 16th, 2007Thank you to all who came to my shows last week, and what a week it was! Wednesday went very well and Thursday was a ton of fun. I have not really decided how I feel about trunk shows, they can be so hit or miss. I almost think that one should just toss back a couple of cocktails and enjoy the ride. One thing that I learned last week was that my upcoming collection is a winner, out of the 27 bags that I had available 7 of them were a sneak peak of my 2008 collection, and out of those 7, 6 sold. What a relief, you never know when you create a new line how it will be received. I can not wait to get the new line up here, but first I have to make it through my wedding deliveries in January. That means I get to take a head first digger into vintage rhinestone jewelry, brides love to sparkle. I often use Ebay this time of year to source all of my pieces , as the usual estate sales are hard to find in the dead of winter. Here are a few that I am drooling over right now.
