OMG - Minneapolis St. Paul Mag was kind enough to interview me for their People Who Do Cool Things feature in their lifestyle section. How totally cool is that? I feel about 10 feet off of the ground right now! I has such a great time chatting with Abby VanNess and discovered that she is a former figure skater like myself.
The photo shoot was fun and Stephanie Colgan did her best to loosen me up. I have to admit that I am not too comfortable in front of the camera, but she coached me through working what my mama gave me.

I will be back in New York June 18 and 19 for my second Nelle Trunk Show, and if I learned one thing from the last time I was there it is to wear more sensible shoes! I can’t even express how thrilled I am to be invited back - each time I walk through Bendel’s there is always something to discover. I have been holding onto this delicious little secret for months! The summer edition of InStyle Weddings will feature my white Cherub Clutch!
My boyfriend, bless his heart, called InStyle to find out just when it would be hitting the stands. It is suppose to hit thif Friday, June 13! This is Nelle’s first national placement and I am so excited to see it in print! Now there may be the possibility that I got dropped from the magazine last minute but I am keeping my fingers crossed that the bag made the cut. Wish me luck, I imagine it will be similar to waking up on Christmas morning. The anticipation is killing me!
Nelle Handbags to Appear at Henri Bendel

Nelle handbags will make an appearance in the windows at Henri Bendel next week as part of the promotion for the upcoming Independent Handbag Designer Awards. Nelle handbags will also be in store at Bendel’s June 12- 14, Bendel’s will be the first U.S. retailer to sell my new Nelle Day Collection! I am just thrilled that I am able to launch it there. It has been a dream of mine to have Henri Bendel sell my line, and I am just tickled. I invite you to please stop in and see the new collection. You may even get the chance to meet me as I will be out in NY and plan on stopping in whenever I can.

I just saw the Sex and The City movie - loved it! Anywho they mention Bag, Borrow, or Steal in the movie which reminded to let you all know that you can vote for your favorite Independent designer handbag on the site. Nelle is a finalist, so if my bag is your favorite I encourage you to vote.

Nelle is a Finalist! Independant Handbag Designer Awards
Monday, April 28th, 2008Imagine my surprise when I checked my voice mail this morning and discovered that my bag was selected as a top five finalist in the Handmade Handbag category of the 2008 Independent Handbag Design Awards. If my clutch wins its category my bag will be featured in a window display at Henri Bendel and I will be invited with the other 5 winners to hold a trunk show at the legendary department store. Every time I think about this my heart skips a beat, it has been a dream of mine to have my bags at the store - shriek! Breathe….
Above is the clutch that is up for the award, it is a part of my 2008 Nelle Day Collection which will be available on-line the second week of May. It is the only 100 percent fabric bag in the Handmade Handbag category, which is amazing!
